How do I import classes and roster students with Canvas?

If you sign in with Clever or Classlink, it is not recommended to import classes or roster students with Canvas; this will create duplicate accounts. Instead, click here to learn how to integrate your Progress Learning account with Canvas.
Before you can import classes with Canvas, these two steps must be taken: Step 1: Your campus admin needs to complete these integration steps. Step 2: You need to integrate your account with Canvas. Click here to learn more.
  1. From the home page, select Class Management.
  2. Select Import Canvas.
  3. Select the class that you would like to import. You may not select a class that has already been imported. Click the white "Import" button.

  1. Select "Class Management" from the breadcrumb at the top right of the page.
  1. Find your imported class in the list. It will have the Canvas icon next to it, and a "Pending Setup" warnining message. Click on the class name, which is hyperlinked.
  1. Click "OK" when the Class Rostering pop-up message appears.
  1. Select the Student Mapping tab on the left. Click on "Sync Existing Students" to import your students from Canvas.
  1. Select the Student tab on the left.
  1. You will see your list of students rostered in the Student tab.
  1. Select the Subjects tab on the left.
  1. Click Add Subject.
  1. Select one or more subjects by checking the boxes beside the subjects. Click "Add."
  1. Click OK.
