How to Integrate Progress Learning with Schoology for Teachers

Updated by DaCota Cole

Your District/Schoology Admin must complete the following integration steps with Support before following the steps below. Click here to learn more how to get set up.

How do I give an assignment with Schoology?

  1. From the left side menu, select Assignments and click on Create Assignment
  2. Give your Assignment a name, select a subject and click on Continue
  1. Utilize the Activities section to assign Assessments, Progress Learning Summative and Domain Practice Tests, Practice Questions, Video Lessons, and/or Constructed Response Questions. Then click Save and Continue. For more details on How to Create an Assignment, please refer to the help article: How to Create an Assignment.

*Assignments given to system-generated classes (such as grade-level classes) are not supported.

Please note: If you choose multiple activities for an assignment, each activity will sync to Schoology as a separate assignment.
  1. Select the class(es) you would like to assign the assignment to. Select Save and Continue.
  2. Set your Start date and Due Date.
  3. Click on Sync to Schoology
If you don't see the toggle available to Sync to Schoology, please provide your Clever Admin or ClassLink Admin with the linked guides so they can ensure everything is set up for your district with Progress Learning.
  1. An assignment status pop-up will appear to confirm the assignment synced successfully. Select the option to Go to Assignment Bank.
  1. When you return to the Assignment Bank, assignments synced to Schoology will display a Schoology logo beside them.

How to grade an assignment in Schoology

  1. Navigate to the assignment in Schoology for your class.
  2. Select the settings icon to the right of the assignment in Schoology. Select the edit option.
  1. Select the dropdown menu to update the Category in Schoology to any other category you use. Select Save Changes.
  1. Now all grades for the assignment will sync to Schoology within 5-15 minutes!
These steps are required to let you omit certain grades (for practice, etc.) from syncing to Schoology if you don’t want them included.
If you’ve completed these steps and grades still haven’t synced to Schoology, please notify your district admin who manages Clever or ClassLink. Let them know they’ll need to follow this guide to enable LTI, which is required for syncing grades and assignments to Schoology.
